Looking Toward 2009

As we search our thoughts about, this past year and remind ourselves of things, gone by. Let us also look forward to the coming year with hope and love in our hearts, as we reach a milestone and move on to another. Remember the one's we've lost and the one's yet to come, for our future depends on the new one's that come to us from now on. The Wise Men.....

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Henry is our step-dad, and he is 86 years old......we wonder, if he will be with us next year....














Mother is 83 years old, and each year we wonder if it will be her last, so we try to get together for her last years........

I know your in a better place..........and yet.........it's hard to think of this season, without you being alive............you always loved to eat and enjoyed sleeping after your stomach was full. I often said that you could sleep through a tornado....I'm actually sure of it.......
I was your wife for a short time, but I grew to know you well.............our son's, knew you even better. I'm sure that's why it's so hard on them right now. Your death, put a big hole in their lives, and I saw our grandson, grow up during the time of you departure. With his simple ways, Trey still has a soft tender heart. Reminds me of yours. I remember touching your heart many times down through the years.........even though you were very stubborn. Today is our grand daughter's birthday.........and I hope she will be able to gather strength and stamina as she walks through her new world of adulthood.
What was good, even though I wondered about it, was your wife..........giving a hug.........even after all the bad blood, we had during those years. I sincerely believe, that she was able to move beyond the menace and step up to greater heights as a person. In a way....your death.......caused a lot of good...........and huge grief......

Our daughter is going through a tough time........and your not here to give her support. I wonder why I ever thought that you could do that for our children? You never did, so why would I expect you to now? Anyway, it would have been nice for them, if you had given them your time and love down through the years. They really needed your shoulder many times.........and it seemed that mine was never quite big enough.
Right now, she really needs a shoulder and has retreated into her world of maintaining. It's not a good world, but it's the one she has fashioned for herself and it's her security. She's out there alone, and she's not reaching out to us, who are here. Each one of us is giving her the space she needs to deal with this, but I'm not sure she really knows how. Her pride will keep her from coming to us and that is a bad thing........
If you have any way of doing something good from where you are,
please, send some love and strength to our daughter...........she needs it so very bad........

Sunday Morning

It’s a beautiful morning, here in the DFW area, and a real lazy one at that…….I’ve been in here playing around on the computer, doing my usual email checks and looking for jobs. Heaven forbid, I should find one……..the weekend’s are not good for getting jobs on the websites. It’s as if they take a weekend off from work, too. I hope they get back to letting us work more on the weekends, because I need the money.

I remember a story, my Grandmother used to tell me.......down through the years. About a man who had lived his life in the world as if there was no God. He made it a point to tell you that he didn't believe in God, that God had never done anything for him or helped him in any way. So, it finally came to the time that this man, was on his death bed and was asked by a person, if he believed in God.............to which the man answered................."well, this life will do to live by, but it won't do to die by".............
I haven't forgotten those words, every time I hear someone tell people that they don't believe in God..............I've also been know to repeat those words to those particular people, on such occasions. Naturally, I get a rhetorical answer but that's fine, because the seed has been planted..............it's up to God to grow it..........

Dear God

I wrote this when I got word from my daughter.......
She called me back about an hour later, with news that the doctor said, it wasn't cancer after all......but it was emphysema and she might get arthritis in her lungs from all the broken ribs she's had.........

My letter to God.......before I found out........

This is not supposed to be happening.........why? It's my child.........and now she's going to be fighting the fight of her life...........and for her life.....
God, she just turned 40 this year.........and now the doctor says, she may not live to be 42.........I'm so scared.........will I be able to be what she needs me to be? I feel so lost..........helpless.......and all of those horrible words, that comes to mind...................LUNG CANCER...........
What do I do.......how do I keep her going........and built up emotionally.......when I'm falling apart......myself? Oh God, help me........please help me........
