It's been awhile since, I've been on here and written anything. This subject is something that's hard to write about, but it's been part of this blog, through the years..........
Today, I noticed a large truck pull up across the street. It had medical equipment to deliver. A medical bed was delivered, meaning one thing. This is a sad day to view, this action meaning, my neighbor is losing her battle with lung cancer. She has fought it for over 3 years and now I am witnessing her finally stages as it drags the very life out of her fragile body. I've sent prayers up to God, through those years, hoping for a miracle, but knowing that this type of cancer, doesn't give up. Now I can only pray for her comfort during these final stages and for the comfort of her family as they endure the loss of their Mom, wife and grandmother.....along with a very large extended family.

Of No Use?
The next time you feel like GOD can't use YOU, just remember...
Noah was a drunk
Abraham was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a liar
Leah was ugly
Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem
Gideon was afraid
Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer
Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David had an affair and was a murderer
Elijah was suicidal
Isaiah preached naked
Jonah ran from God
Naomi was a widow
Job went bankrupt
John the Baptist ate bugs
Peter denied Christ
The Disciples fell asleep while praying
Martha worried about everything
The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once
Zaccheus was too small
Paul was too religious
AND Lazarus was dead!
No more excuses now!! God can use you to your full potential. Besides you aren't the message, you are just the messenger.

It's Almost Here
Winter is almost here in Texas, and now it feels more like the Christmas season. I'm not a cool weather person, and get cold very easy when a small wind passes by. The hard freezes are times when I hunker down where it's warm and watch a good movie or TV show. You will find me covered up with a blanket on the couch while doing so. Either way, the nice 70 degree temps we had recently were more my liking.

Thanksgiving
A time to reflect on years past, and things that were very important to us. A time to be thankful for the things we have and if able, to share the things we have with others, less fortunate.
In a couple of weeks you will be gathering with your family to be together again, on this occasion. It may be the last time for some of your family to be with you. It may be a new beginning for a few of you. Either way, this will be a time for you as a family to make memories, as you have on previous occasions.
Each year, one or two of the members aren't able to make it, for one reason or another. Two of my sons, live out of state, and won't be here. Another may have other family members to be with at this time. So, we will be thankful for the family members that do get to drop by and enjoy the day as well as we can.
Once again, let us remember to thank the Lord for each day he has given us and for a great healthy coming year.

The Cheap Way
Many families have turned to cremation as a final and cheap way to dispose of a love one's body. Last rites have become individual family & friends memorials at home or you local funeral home. Those who can't afford the funeral home expenses, opt for a personal memorial between family and friends at a convenient location, with personal burial at the family cemetery or a local place that was special to the person being buried. It's sad that this has come down to this, but it's become too expensive to die, these days.

Goodbye
I see the dark clouds surrounding your family members as they deal with your death. It's not a pretty picture to view, because of the strife involved. My daughter in law, was your daughter and she is getting more than her share of grief at this moment. The family is not handling your loss well, and she is the brunt of their attacks. Needless to say, it's not right for this to be happening and it only causes more hurt in the long run. My prayers for this family, can only be for peace and cooperation between them.
Elaine Knorr, I hope you are able to RIP since you no longer are in control of this situation. I never met you but, from some of the comments I've seen on Facebook, you were a nice person. My daughter in law is torn apart from the way the family treated her at your passing. It's not nice, fair or decent to treat a family member in this manner during such a sad time. I hope you will be able to send some form of love down to your children during their grief and maybe they will be able to find peace and comfort.
My prayers go out to them and I will keep in touch with your daughter, to comfort her and support her emotionally during the trying times ahead.
God be with you and may you rest in peace,
Sincerely,
Nita

Times
Each day you wake up it is a new time to do and experience things. You can have a great day going and something come along to ruin it's beauty. A bad day starting off, can turn into a great day with just on small gesture or happening. That's the amazing thing about life and the world we live in. Interaction with others can give us these opportunities and add to the pleasures or demise. Finding comfort during these times in the fact that we are right where we need to be, is something you learn. This feeling comes from knowing who you are and how you can handle whatever comes your way. This being that you have faith in something which will help you through the tough times. Sometimes we have to get away and be alone to find that inner strength down deep inside us. Drawing from it gives us renewed strength to get through the day or nights ahead. I find that talking to God, help me no matter what the situation may be.

Hearing Loss
As the years pass by the body starts to slowly ebb away as well. Signs of aging creep upon us before we realize it. Along with these things comes the need for a hearing aid and glasses. I have the glasses and the wrinkles. I haven't lost the hearing as yet, but who knows how soon that will happen? I hope that it never happens. For information about hearing aides, click on the above link.

A Closeness
The time in my life has occurred, when one finds it necessary to become closer to the higher up. I mean the supreme being we all have come to believe is up there waiting to flip our switches. I most dreaded fear is that it will come faster than I hope for. I only know that however some people feel, they must admit that there is a higher power, governing our lives. We as humans live with this, even though we try to put it out of our minds. Still we realize that one day, as our late family members have done, we will also do. Each night when I go to bed, I realize the next day may not come for me, and that's scary. I find myself talking to the higher spirit in order to make peace of some sort. I can only hope when my time finally comes, I will be asleep, cause I'm a wimp on the death subject.

We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments.
But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

Oh Yes..........
For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not
understand, no explanation is possible.
One day I
had lunch with some friends. Jim, a short, balding golfer type about
70 years old, came along with them---all in all, a pleasant bunch.
When
the menus were presented, we ordered salads, sandwiches, and soups,
except for Jim who said, "Ice Cream, please. Two scoops, chocolate. I
wasn't sure my ears heard right, and the others were aghast. "Along
with heated apple pie," Jim added, completely unabashed.
We
tried to act quite nonchalant, as if people did this all the time..
But when our orders were brought out, I didn't enjoy mine. I couldn't
take my eyes off Jim as his pie a-la-mode went down.. The other guys
couldn't believe it. They ate their lunches silently and grinned.
The
next time I went out to eat, I called and invited Jim. I lunched on
white
meat tuna. He ordered a parfait. I smiled. He asked if he amused me. I
answered, "Yes, you do, but also you confuse me. How come you order
rich desserts, while I feel I must be sensible?
He
laughed and said "I'm tasting all that is possible. I try to eat the
food I need, and do the things I should. But life's so short, my
friend, I hate missing out on something good. This year I realized
how old I was. (He grinned) I haven't been this old before.."
"So,
before I die, I've got to try those things that for years I had
ignored. I haven't smelled all the flowers yet. There are too many trout
streams I haven't fished. There's more fudge sundaes to wolf down and
kites to be flown overhead.
There are too many
golf courses I haven't played. I've not laughed at all the jokes. I've
missed a lot of sporting events and potato
chips and cokes. I want to wade again in water and feel ocean spray on
my face. I want to sit in a country church once more and thank God
for His grace.
I want peanut butter every day
spread on my morning toast. I want un-timed long distance calls to the
folks I love the most. I haven't cried at all the movies yet, or walked
in the morning rain. I need to feel wind on my face. I want to be in
love again.
So, if I choose to have dessert,
instead of having dinner, then should I die before night fall, I'd say I
died a winner, because I missed out on nothing. I filled my heart's
desire. I had that final chocolate mousse before my life expired.."
Chocolate
Ice Cream With that, I called the waitress over. "I've changed my mind,
" I said. "I want what he is having, only add some more whipped
cream!"
This is my gift to you - We need an
annual Friends Day! If you get this twice, then you have more than one
friend. Live well, love much & laugh often - Be happy.
SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS including me if I'm lucky enough to be counted among them.
Be
mindful that happiness isn't based on possessions, power, or prestige,
but on relationships with people we like and respect. Remember that
while money talks, CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM SINGS!

Aging Gracefully
As we all know, the art of aging is not always what we want it to be. There are health issues that crop up and we don't want to accept them. Still, they happen and we must cope with the reality that aging, is a pitfall, we all must face. One of the issues of aging is incontinence, and it will not go away. It gets worse and we become dependent on incontinence products to protect our clothing as well as our ego's. We don't want to be embarrassed by leakage, while out in public, and that's why we must invest in these products.

Their move
Authored by Rickey Combs
My mom and dad have been talking for the longest time about moving somewhere a little slower paced. I thought it was a great idea, myself, and have been pushing them for years and they’ve finally worked up the courage to get out and go this year – they’ve been in their new townhome for almost two months and they say they love having less house to maintain! I told them to go to Http://www.Securitychoice.com to secure the place up when they moved in since they’re not too used to living in the city and I talked to my mom about having her groceries delivered. Can you believe she joined a gym? They act like they’re going on 17, not 70, but I think it’s totally great that they’re living life to the fullest even in their old age. I love my parents and no matter what they do with their retirement I’m going to think they hung the moon – they’ve been so good to me and my brothers all our lives!

Eyes
Your age can cause horrible wrinkles and lines around your eyes. It's then necessary to find the best eye wrinkle cream to help ease these features. I believe that we women should take care of our skin before the age lines set in. It's a good thing to be as nice looking as you can. Your skin says a lot about how you handle your health matters. If you look good, then it makes you feel good about yourself.

SSDI
I've seen many people who need help filing their disability insurance with the Social Security Department. It's a very overwhelming undertaking, and gives the people red tape that is hard to understand. Needing help with your filing, isn't uncommon and there is a place you can find it. This company doesn't charge you to help you get the benefits you need. They are paid a fee by the office's that issues your disability coverage. You can find some of the best counselor's around to assist you when you file.

A Story
I remember a story, my Grandmother used to tell me.......down through the years. About a man who had lived his life in the world as if there was no God. He made it a point to tell you that he didn't believe in God, that God had never done anything for him or helped him in any way. So, it finally came to the time that this man, was on his death bed and was asked by a person, if he believed in God.............to which the man answered................."well, this life will do to live by, but it won't do to die by".............
I haven't forgotten those words, every time I hear someone tell people that they don't believe in God..............I've also been know to repeat those words to those particular people, on such occasions. Naturally, I get a rhetorical answer but that's fine, because the seed has been planted..............it's up to God to grow it......

Need Safety At Home........
I don't live in the Cincinatti area, but I know there are plenty people who do, and so I'm writing to these people about a Security Systems Cincinnati company that can help them, get the necessary equipment needed to keep their homes and businesses safe. All too often homes and businesses are getting broken into and items of value are stolen. The insurance companies don't like this liability, and often frown on such claims. The Cincinnati area has listings for several alarm systems cincinnati that are able to assist you. It's convenient to shop online for such services and get a good comparison when you look at the different services. I know you've seen companies, boasting of their home security systems and how well they can protect your valuable items. They also tell you how to be safe when you are at home or away. This online company can give you a good package deal with adt cincinnati and you will feel secure about your home when you are traveling or visiting family or friends. With one easy call you can get an estimate of what the monthly expenses will be and they will send a tech out to your property to give you a full inspection. With installation and service you will be able to get the best quality in alarm systems and know that your are protected.
