Tis The Season

Back to School

It's that time again, and all the parents have geared up to get all the different supplies their children to make this school year a great one.  The football season comes along during this time and there is the school bands that perform during and at halftime.  A beginner instrument can be found for your new band student at  wwwmusicianfriend.com to aide your student with his/her goals in the music world.  Strike up the band to some soul stirring music when you hear the march songs of the past or the new world version of how school bands perform today.

Not Yet

The month of December hasn't arrived as yet and the media sources are full of ads for Christmas Gifts.  I have a birthday coming on the 2nd  and it's not one I relish except to be thankful, that I'm alive and well.  Considering the crazy world today, I'm glad to be at home on this "Black Friday" shopping day.  Who knows what crazy people are out there trying to grab the best deal from someone else?  Not, me and it's a shame that the season is tainted with this commercialism, when there's only one reason we celebrate.  The birth of  "Jesus Christ".

 During the holiday season, you see these everywhere.  It's not uncommon to follow the crowd during these times, to view the lights and displays.  You can visit the   parks  link in this post to see some of the designs they can assemble for your home or business.  It's listed as a great way to show your holiday spirit and have displays that are sturdy and flexible.  They state that the units are weather worthy and stay lit, so why would you consider any other form of decorations?

The story on the news, is telling us that there are many people going without food, lately. It's my concern that we as the American people, need to rally and help our fellow citizens who are in need. Since our government isn't doing much to help, we need to follow up on the needs in our own towns and states.

Another Year

The year has taken off and we are still looking at what we got ourselves into.  January, has come and gone so the spring season is just around the corner.  Very soon we will celebrate the love of "Easter" as we Christians remember the sacrifice our precious "Jesus" gave for our sins.  Our hope is vested in this faith and we look toward the eternal destination it promises to those who believe.  May we take to time to observe this holy experience and be once again, thankful.

I know that the office of today, is quite different for the office of yesterday.  Most paperwork was done manually by office staff.  Today, you still find that certain things like round labels  can be used for jobs precised.  I'm not sure what you will use these for, but if you have a need for them then click on the above link and do some shopping.

Old House

This is a picture from the past which I have no information about.  I found it in a collection that my mother had saved from my Grandmother and Great Grandmother's things.  I see some children on the porch on the right side of the house.  No doubt some of them were related to me, but who knows just how?  Isn't it cool to look at old pictures of yester years and see how things were back then?

Aaron DelSignore

 There is someone who knows something about the impact decisions have on a life’s trajectory.  This man mentions the importance of clarity and taking advantage of second chances when they arise. Children deemed “at risk” are at a crucial crossroads in their lives, and they are faced with many important decisions.  Formerly an at-risk youth, Aaron DelSignore   stresses positive lifestyles to these children, and he highlights how dangerous drug use can be.  Once you get started on that path, you can develop habits, and once you develop habits like drugs, it is a curse for life. Aaron DelSignore relays this message to local at-risk youth through a program of speeches and lectures.
Aaron DelSignore  is a former amateur boxer who trained hard under an established regimen, and this physical conditioning was merely one part of his recipe for success.  He regularly appears before groups of young people to speak to them about life choices.  DelSignore is active in many local charities and social clubs, including Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, Food for the Poor, International Social Ministry of St. Thomas More, and Don't Trash Nevada.  In his free time, he enjoys hiking in various places like Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, and Mt. Charleston.  He is a voracious reader with an appetite for classic American writers like John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemingway, and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
