For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

One day I had lunch with some friends. Jim, a short, balding golfer type about  70 years old, came along with them---all in all, a pleasant bunch.

When the menus were presented, we ordered salads, sandwiches, and soups,  except for Jim who said, "Ice Cream, please. Two scoops, chocolate. I wasn't  sure my ears heard right, and the others were aghast. "Along with heated apple  pie," Jim added, completely unabashed.

We tried to act quite nonchalant, as if people did this all the time.. But  when our orders were brought out, I didn't enjoy mine. I couldn't take my eyes  off Jim as his pie a-la-mode went down.. The other guys couldn't believe it.  They ate their lunches silently and grinned.

The next time I went out to eat, I called and invited Jim. I lunched on white  meat tuna. He ordered a parfait. I smiled. He asked if he amused me. I answered,  "Yes, you do, but also you confuse me. How come you order rich desserts, while I feel I must be sensible?

He laughed and said "I'm tasting all that is possible. I try to eat the food I  need, and do the things I should. But life's so short, my friend, I hate missing  out on something    good. This year I realized how old I was. (He grinned) I  haven't been this old before.."

"So, before I die, I've got to try those things that for years I had ignored. I haven't smelled all the flowers yet. There are too many trout streams I  haven't fished. There's more fudge sundaes to wolf down and kites to be flown  overhead.

There are too many golf courses I haven't played. I've not laughed at all the  jokes. I've missed a lot of sporting events and potato chips and cokes. I want  to wade again in water and feel ocean spray on my face. I want to sit in a  country church once more    and thank God for His grace.

I want peanut butter every day spread on my morning toast. I want un-timed  long distance calls to the folks I love the most. I haven't cried at all the  movies yet, or walked in the morning rain. I need to feel wind on my face. I  want to be in love again.

So, if I choose to have dessert, instead of having dinner, then should I die  before night fall, I'd say I died a winner, because I missed out on nothing. I  filled my heart's    desire. I had that final chocolate mousse before my life  expired.."

Chocolate Ice Cream With that, I called the waitress over. "I've changed my mind, " I said. "I  want what he is having, only add some more whipped cream!"

Insurance

Taking a trip to visit my daughter, I decided that I would rent a car.  The rental agency didn't have a car ready so I had to take a rental truck. I had to invest in some  HVG insurance  to cover the vehicle while I used it because I only had liability on my car.  They had all these different add on's that you find when getting involved with a rental agency.  It finally turned out that I paid much more than I had hope to pay.  I still was able to drive a car that was new and not have the fear of breaking down in my own car.  My car is much older and when they get paid for, it's as if they know it and start falling apart.  I've spent almost as much money on my car getting it repaired as I did when I bought it.  It's been first one thing and then another to find extra money to cover.
I wonder if they make sure to build a car so that it expires in a certain amount of years?  It definitely looks as if that's the idea behind new car manufacture's.  I would love to have a new car each year, but my finance's won't cover the demand.

Magic Kingdom.......

Do you remember the fun you had when walking into the gate of Disney World for the first time? The ride from the other side of the lake was magical, on the ferry that picked you up from the starting dock. I was a long walk through the parking lot and was nice to be picked up by one of those long buggys' that transported visitors to the main gate. I remember seeing the long street in front of us as we went inside the gates. Opening to a wide array of scenery that gave us plenty to stare at in awe. Suddenly, here came the different greeters, such as Pluto, Goofy and up on a balcony stood "Mickey" himself, waving to all of us in welcome. Our youngest daughter being only a year and a half old, wasn't too thrilled with these characters, getting too close.
We bought our tickets at the main gate, when entering back then, but since the technology of the internet has thrived, you can now get Disney World Tickets plus package deals.
We walked through the park, looking at all the different displays and rides, when we came to the "Magic Kingdom", we were in awe as we viewed the castle for the first time. Going inside was a site to behold and we really enjoy all the different sights in there. Moving along we went to another area, that had a lagoon ride where you went around a lake in a glass bottomed boat and saw all the all the water species swimming under plus the jungle creatures in the trees. Mostly they were animated with loud ear popping sounds. When we went into a cave, in a boat they had all types of animated creatures, playing and singing to the electronic technology integrated inside them. We were asked not to take pictures with our cameras, because the flash might interfere with the electronic components in the figures. I managed to sneek a few in even though I was afraid of getting caught. We came home with many wonderful memories and I can truly say that "Magic Kingdom", was a real treat.

It's getting ever harder to consider riding a bicycle since I've gotten over the hill. I know that I can ride on level surfaces and downhill would be no problem. The uphill climb would give me too much stress on my old body. They have these bikes that have an electric motor which you can turn on when going up an incline.
