Allergies......
from the doctor. I have gotten to where the over the counter stuff, is doing less for me. So, I now am requiring a doctor's prescription to ease the pressure. This last year has been the worst that I've had in sometime, and I hope the new year will offer less ragweed, pollen and spores.

A Story
I remember a story, my Grandmother used to tell me.......down through the years. About a man who had lived his life in the world as if there was no God. He made it a point to tell you that he didn't believe in God, that God had never done anything for him or helped him in any way. So, it finally came to the time that this man, was on his death bed and was asked by a person, if he believed in God.............to which the man answered................."well, this life will do to live by, but it won't do to die by".............
I haven't forgotten those words, every time I hear someone tell people that they don't believe in God..............I've also been know to repeat those words to those particular people, on such occasions. Naturally, I get a rhetorical answer but that's fine, because the seed has been planted..............it's up to God to grow it......

Heaven & Hell......
The Lord led the holy man to two doors.
He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.
In the middle of the room was a large round table..
In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew,
which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.
The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly.. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.
But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths..
The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, 'You have seen Hell.
They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.
The holy man said, 'I don't understand. 'It is simple,' said the Lord. 'It requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other.
The greedy think only of themselves.'
When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you..

Great Grandma
This is the Grandma, that I knew, the one with no teeth, with a smile that could light up the whole room. I was her “pet”, and that was just fine with me. This was the picture they put in the local newspaper on her 95th birthday(1956). She received a letter from the State Senator at the time, wishing her Happy Birthday. I wish I could remember who he was…..lol.

Prayer of Spiritual Leader.........
He has certainly hit the "world" on the head!!
Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation
THIS MAN SURE HAS A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY!
'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare... We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics... We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God..'

Littlest Angel........
I found this movie at the library, many years ago, when my children were young and growing up. They loved it and it became a family tradition at Christmas time to watch it with the kids.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men.

I found this Christmas film, that I want to try purchase. Hopefully I will be able to find it before this Christmas. I believe it will be an inspiration to my family and friends during this holiday. If you find it and purchase it as well, I do hope that it gives you a feeling of love and warmth that this Christmas season, brings to families, who have loved ones serving overseas and at home. Auto Repairs.......
My friend lives in Chicago and recently, found her Toyota Corolla in need of repairs. It was going down hill fast and being her only transportation, she needed help. I told her to try and find a Chicago auto repair shop there in her area. She grabbed her phone book and started looking for the 1st available repair shop. This girl doesn't have the slightest idea about how to find a reliable repair shop. I emailed her to look at the online listings, and get more than one estimate. I'm glad she listened to me, because she will be able to afford the quotes from the one place she decided to employ. I know they will help her, because they offer customer satisfaction on all their work.
Dearest Lord
She called me back about an hour later, with news that the doctor said, it wasn't cancer after all......but it was emphysema and she might get arthritis in her lungs from all the broken ribs she's had.........
Update: One year later.........
She's still doing well, and for everyday we have together, I do thank you Lord. She has her good days and bad, and with the winter coming on, she will have to be extra careful. I ask you for your gracious help in this matter.

Think On These Things......
(she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.
Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your
neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.
Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities
would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know
what he's talking about. And we said OK.
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?
Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Bishops May Flex Muscle..........
In the health care debate, for instance, the bishops have consistently identified three priority areas: abortion, religious conscience clauses and immigrant rights. The pressure from the church to ease restrictions on immigrants was “not even close” to the abortion language tug of war. The church’s strategic decisions are significant because, Catholics represent 30 percent of the largest single religious group among members of Congress and it can gain access across party lines.
Dear Lord
Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.
Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. Let me continue to see sin through God's eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.
And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus' example -- to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It's the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will.
Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those who are lost and can't find their way. I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know You intimately. I pray for those who will delete this without sharing it with others. I pray for those who don't believe. But I thank you that I believe.
I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.
I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly..
This is my prayer.

Beliefs......
What is it that you believe in?
There are many subjects that stick deep in one’s heart and soul. They believe in these things, so strongly, that they can become a control factor.
It’s a good thing to have something or someone to believe in. This is the very being, that gives us strength to conquer, obstacles that attempt to ruin our hopes, wishes, dreams and everyday lives. Our strength is what gets us beyond these things and on to a new day, filled with new things to accomplish and savor.
All too often we will notice the outer surface of a subject or problem. It seems to be the biggest thing that overwhelms us. Looking deeper, we find that it wasn’t such a big thing after all. Sometimes, we find ourselves, being embarrassed, because we allowed it to disrupt our thinking in such a manner. Sometimes, it out right, makes us mad at ourselves. All human, actions are made of these and yet they are very controlling in our everyday lives.
Religion, is an affecting, controlling subject that can rule many facets of our attitudes, emotions and actions. It can also, give us strength, to handle daily situations. It may be the words of a song, a reading, a scripture, the words of encouragement from a friend. There are so many ways, religion, can affect us.
So, what do you believe in? Is it a person, an action, a standard that has stood the test of time. Giving the chance, why not stop and think about your beliefs and evaluate them. See if they still meet you needs for living according to your standards. Find new things and see if they could become a belief, you could adapt to.

A Time To Reflect........
In less than a week we will be gathering with our family to be together again, on this occasion. It may be the last time for some of our family to be with us. It may be a new beginning for a few of us. Either way, this will be a time for us as a family to make memories, as we have on previous occasions.
Each year, one or two of the members aren't able to make it, for one reason or another. One of my sons, lives out of state, and won't be here. Another may have other family members to be with at this time, since they just lost their dad. So, we will be thankful for the family members that do get to drop by and enjoy the day as well as we can.
Once again, let us remember to thank the Lord for each day he has given us and for a great healthy coming year.

Thanksgiving.........
The story on the news, is telling us that there are many people going without food, lately. It's my concern that we as the American people, need to rally and help our fellow citizens who are in need. Since our government isn't doing much to help, we need to follow up on the needs in our own towns and states.

In another room, there was an old Victrola which place the old LP album's and had to be wound up in order to play. Yes, it had the big horn looking speaker which loomed over the top of the turntable.
As with all good and great thing's, when you've got too many, they tend to collect dust. Still it was a pleasure to go and visit her and listen to her stories and see all the different items, that were on display.
Today, you can find several items to put in a dollhouse for your little girls, and they will love playing with them. They won't be as quaint, as the one's I enjoyed, but to little girls, the thrill will still be there. Letter From God........
This might be one of the kindest things you may ever see.
It is not known who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office of the US postal service.
Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:
Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.
I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven.. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.̢۪ Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey &Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven.
Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.
Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.
I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.
By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.
Love,
God

A Penny.....
The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. The husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely.
As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening, the boss was walking slightly a head of Arlene and her husband.
He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment.
Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts.
Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny.
He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure. How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up?
Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She casually mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value.
A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and hel d it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?
'Look at it.' He said. 'Read what it says.' She read the words ' United States of America '
'No, not that; read further.'
'One cent?'
'No, keep reading.'
'In God we Trust?' 'Yes!'
'And?'
'And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin.. Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him? Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him..
For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me , God is patient and pennies are plentiful!
When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change.
I read the words, 'In God We Trust,' and had to laugh. Yes, God, I get the message.
It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful!
And, God is patient..
The best mathematical equation I have ever seen:
1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given
That's the whole gospel message simply stated.

God........
was training to be an Olympic diver.
The only religious influence in his life came from his outspoken Christian friend.
The young diver never really paid much attention to his friend's sermons,
but he heard them often.
One night the diver went to the indoor pool at the college he
attended.
The lights were all off,
but as the pool had big skylights and the moon was bright,
there was plenty of light to practice by.
The young man climbed up to the highest diving board and as he turned
his back to the pool on
the edge of the board and extended his arms out,
he saw his shadow on the wall.
The shadow of his body,
was in the shape of a cross..
The man felt a strange feeling,
like someone was speaking to him.
Instead of diving, he knelt down and finally asked God to come into his life.
As the young man stood,
a maintenance man walked in and turned the lights on.
The pool had been drained for repairs.

Job Interview for Teacher Position.........
'Let me see if I've got this right.
'You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instill in them a love for learning. 'You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride. 'You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job. 'You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the final exams. 'You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.
'You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps.
'You want me to do all this and then you tell me.

He's Awake & Talking
Awlaki said the only way a Muslim can justify serving in the U.S. military is if he intends to "follow in the footsteps of men like Nidal."
"Nidal Hassan is a hero," Awlaki said. "He is a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people."
I have seen this type of religion and beliefs, and yet, I wonder how they can esteem, killing innocent victims, who haven't done them any wrong? I would think that living in America and being a citizen, would give a person more feeling toward the country who has nurtured them from birth.

My Friend........
I remember your hearty laugh, your ever watchful eyes, that lit up when you thought you had gotten something over on someone. All the jokes you would tell, your big round belly that shook when you laughed. You were a play boy, with many ladies waiting in the shadows.......always looking at another lady, with leering eyes, and a sexy smile.........you loved my legs.....
We could always laugh and joke with each other, and that was as far as it went...........no doubt, you wanted it to go further, but I wouldn't allow us to loose our friendship with that type of thing. When we heard you were ill and it was going to be rough, I worried about you. When at last I finally saw you again, it hurt to see how much weight you had lost.........It wasn't many months after that until you were gone........I miss you my friend.........
