We could always laugh and joke with each other, and that was as far as it went...........no doubt, you wanted it to go further, but I wouldn't allow us to loose our friendship with that type of thing. When we heard you were ill and it was going to be rough, I worried about you. When at last I finally saw you again, it hurt to see how much weight you had lost.........It wasn't many months after that until you were gone........I miss you my friend.........

One Year Ago, Today......

Today, is a sad day for my two oldest son's. Their Dad was unplugged from the machine's that were keeping him alive, exactly one year ago. It's a very hard situation on anyone, and these boys will remember today for awhile. I know that no one wants to give up a parent and it seems to yank the very foundation out from under you. The place you came from and the security that they were there when you needed them is taken away. You realize that you can no longer call them on the phone and chat or ask them for advise. Suddenly, you feel like a fish out of water, and there's nothing you can do about it, but go on with your life. I'm in silent prayer, this afternoon, for my sons. I know they miss him very much.......

Change........?

I remember how I was so ready for a change, and that my world had become stagnant and boring. I kept telling people, that something had to change, that I was in a rut. I definitely was in a rut!
Get up, get ready, go to work, get off work, drive to the local club, have a few brews, leave and get something on the way home to eat or wait till I got home and throw something together. Then watch enough TV to get sleepy and go to bed.........that was it. Nothing great or wonderful to enjoy or do!
Well, change does happen and it did........at first it was the most wonderful change I could have ever hoped for..........well, it was good while it lasted, but it didn't last long enough for me.........and the change once again reared it's ugly head......this time for the worse......and once again........I'm in a rut.........alone.......and bored........

From the time I was born, I was raised to know about the Lord. My grandmother, took me to church every time the door was opened. I was told a story about a lady in the hospital who was near death when an area Chaplain came to visit her.
This Chaplain was a very young female with long blond hair. She listened to the lady who was ill and left her a small gift for comfort. It was a tiny ceramic frog.
The next day one of the people from the lady's church came to visit. The lady told her friend about the beautiful young Chaplain who had come to visit her The friend was so impressed with the way the lady had improved and felt the need to talk to the young Chaplain.
In her search to find the young gal, she was repeatedly reassured that the chaplains are never very young and that there was never a gal that fit the description given.
Upon returning to the lady in the hospital, a visiting nurse entered the room and noticed the ceramic frog.

Our nation is/has been on the slippery slope for a long time. If you look around you will find corruption, greed, moral decay, and a steady move away from the things that made us great. The principles upon which this nation was founded are no longer our backbone. However, we can reverse this trend.

I am convinced that we must pray for our nation and its leaders and ask for forgiveness So I ask you to join me in this plea to our Lord.

I truly believe this is why the United States of America is in the shape we are in today. Most people have forgotten that we are one nation under God! I've left my patio cushions out during a heavy rain storm and then I got real lazy and let the sun reek havoc with the heat. One day I had a date with friends for lunch. Mae, a little old "blue hair" about 80 years old, came along with them---all in all, a pleasant bunch. When the menus were presented, we ordered salads, sandwiches, and soups, except for Mae who said, "Ice Cream, please. Two scoops, chocolate." I wasn't sure my ears heard right, and the others were aghast. "Along with
heated apple pie," Mae added, completely unabashed.
We tried to act quite nonchalant, as if people did this all the time.. But when our orders were brought out, I didn't enjoy mine. I couldn't take my eyes off Mae as her pie a-la-mode went down. The other ladies showed dismay. They ate their lunches silently and frowned.

The next time I went out to eat, I called and invited Mae. I lunched on white meat tuna. She ordered a parfait.
I smiled. She asked if she amused me.
I answered, "Yes, you do, but also you confuse me. How come you order rich desserts, while I feel I must be sensible? She
laughed and said, with wanton mirth, "I'm tasting all that is Possible. I try to eat the food I need, and do the things I should. But life's so short, my friend, I hate missing out on something good. This year I realized how old I was. (She grinned) I haven't been this old
before." "So, before I die, I've got to try those things that for years I had ignored. I haven't smelled all the flowers yet. There are too many books I haven't read. There's more fudge sundaes to wolf down and kites to be flown overhead. There are many malls I haven't shopped. I've not laughed at all the jokes.
I've missed a lot of Broadway hits and potato chips and Cokes. I want to wade again in water and feel ocean spray on my face. I want to sit
in a country church once more and thank God for His grace.
I want peanut butter every day spread on my morning toast. I want un-timed
long distance calls to the folks I love the most.
I haven't cried at all the movies yet, or walked in the morning rain. I need
to feel wind in my hair. I want to fall in love again.
So, if I choose to have dessert, instead of having dinner, then should I die
before night fall, I'd say I died a winner, because I missed out on nothing.
I filled my heart's desire. I had that final chocolate mousse before my life
expired.."
With that, I called the waitress over.. "I've changed my mind, " I said. "I
want what she is having, only add some more whipped cream!"

Yo Yo's Great Fun.........

Several years ago, when I was still a child, yoyo's were the cheapest and most entertaining form of play. It was very frustrating to me, since I just couldn't seem to get that thing to corporate with my rhythm's and the string would always knot up on me. I would watch other kids, making those things dance around on the floor and have a blast "walking the dog" with them. It was easy to go to the local 5 and dime store and purchase one of these toys. Today, things have gotten more exclusive, and you have to find the good brands at a "yo-yo shop", which deals in this type of toy. I found that you can also go online to different website's and find special brands along with styles to suit your pleasure. There are several competitions that can be entered, when you have made this hobby an art. I know that I would never be able to master the art of performing in yoyos competitions, because I'm not agile, like those who enter. THEY KEPT ON WALKING, UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS, WHERE THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A BATH. THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING, BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM. AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM THE NEAR DROWNING, HE WROTE ON A STONE: 'TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE'.

There are many people, mostly women, who really want a striking grandfather clock in their homes. I for one am one of those women, but the price is beyond my financial situation. They just Keep Coming

Somali pirates attempted to storm the French navy's 18,000 tonne flagship in the Indian Ocean after mistaking it for a cargo vessel, the French military said on Wednesday. The pirates, who because of the darkness took the French ship for a commercial vessel, were on board two vessels and opened fire with Kalashnikovs. La Somme is the French command vessel in the Indian Ocean, overseeing French air, sea and land forces fighting Somali pirates and hunting terrorists under the banner of the US-led Operation Enduring Freedom. he pirates tried to flee when they realised their mistake but were pursued by French forces who, after an hour-long chase, caught one of the skiffs. The world's naval powers have deployed dozens of warships to the lawless waters off Somalia over the past year to curb attacks by pirates in one of the world's busiest maritime trade routes.

Youth Violence...........

My Favorite..........

It's hard to find a good place to get choice steaks and other cuts of meat. We have a few places here in the DFW areas, but the price's really hit your budget hard. I found that buying steak packages from butcher shops, can leave you feeling cheated. I prefer to go to a good steak house, and let them do all the cooking, while I sit and sip on a glass of wine. Many people have different preferences on the cut of steak they like. Mine is a ribeye steak bone in and frenched. This cut can really get my saliva juices going. People Flee Another Typhoon..........

Heavy rain drenched mountainous coastal regions in the northeast as Typhoon Parma tracked ominously toward the coast, dropping heavy rain on areas still saturated from the worst flooding in 40 years.

Parma was forecast to hit the east coast Saturday, packing sustained winds of up to 120 mph and gusts up to 140 mph. Officials fear it may develop into a "super-typhoon," the government's weather bureau said.

A Survivor......

I know of women who have had cosmetic surgery to enhance their appearances. It's become a thing to do these days, and if you don't like how you look, they doctor's can change it.
