Finding Strength

The recent storm which devastated a large portion of the eastern states, has left many people relying on what they believe.  Their strength to get up and go forward with come from inside their souls, hearts and their beliefs in God.  Many will turn to the churches and relief organizations for assistance for their dire needs.  The states/local government will help out as best they can when the final assessments are delivered.  Insurance companies will also help with the funds they have.
I believe these American people have the strength it takes to find the stamina and fortitude to press on.  Rebuilding will take sometime and many decisions.  Today, it's with heavy hearts that we watch as these people make an effort to pick up the pieces of their lives.  Our thoughts, prayers and hopes are with them during this horrific time.

Respect

The younger generation would tell you that they are smrter than us and I suppose they might be in the electronics fields. I'm not too certain about the other ideas they come across with?  Their morals are ebbing to nothing.  Many of our children have lost what is consider the "no no" training that should have been instilled while they were growing up.  Yes, this in part is the parents responsibility.  Here is your problem.  Today's world is moving so fast and the parents are just out of touch with what they have and are loosing.  The words "sacred, loyal, respect and love" are tainted with this new way of living and thinking.  I for one don't have the necessary patience to put up with these disrespectful children.  The young adults are in the midst of this trend as well.  I must be getting really old, because I can't stand being around these types of people very long at any given time.

Hearing Loss

As the years pass by the body starts to slowly ebb away as well.  Signs of aging creep upon us before we realize it.  Along with these things comes the need for a  hearing aid  and glasses.  I have the glasses and the wrinkles.  I haven't lost the hearing as yet, but who knows how soon that will happen?  I hope that it never happens.  For information about hearing aides, click on the above link.

Meaning

I had to occasion to see a good movie recently which leaned to the believing side of life.  It overwhelmed me as did this video below.  I am entering the last years of my life and wonder how long they will last.  I don't relish the death part and often find myself dwelling on the subject too much.  I am surly looking at some ease for my distress,  God, seems to help me more than I admit.

After Death?

In The Beginning

In the beginning:  God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Genesis 1:1-3

Actions

I've noticed the actions of people as I have become an aging person.  I find that things which once were very important to me, are not of value anymore.  My actions these days are totally different than they were 30 years ago.  I suppose it's the part of getting older that can make you wiser?  The trials and hard times seem to give you a different perspective about situations.  I wish back when I was a young person, that I could have seen ahead to how things are today.  My actions back then would have been totally different than the way they happened.

A Prayer

We pray Thee O God of might, wisdom, and justice! Through whom authority is rightly administered, laws are enacted, and judgment decreed, assist with Thy Holy Spirit of counsel and fortitude the President of these United States, that his administration may be conducted in righteousness, and be eminently useful to Thy people over whom he presides; by encouraging due respect for virtue and religion; by a faithful execution of the laws in justice and mercy; and by restraining vice and immorality. Let the light of Thy divine wisdom direct the deliberations of Congress, and shine forth in all the proceedings and laws framed for our rule and government, so that they may tend to the preservation of peace, the promotion of national happiness, the increase of industry, sobriety, and useful knowledge; and may perpetuate to us the blessing of equal liberty.

This is part of a prayer written for the government by Archbishop John Carroll.  I borrowed part of it to place here as a reminder of where we've come from.
Archbishop John Carroll was the cousin of Charles Carroll, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Martha Holder

Today, would have been your birthday, if you were still alive.  That is not an option, because you would be very old.  Yes, being born in 1889 would have given you more years than your body could handle.  Still I would that you could be here to visit with and get ideas about how you feel things are going on in this world.  Either way, I am telling you "Happy Birthday" and just letting you know that I remembered.
Love,
Kaye
