Mulberry Trees
Dear Archie
But your memory returned Thanksgiving Day, when a young man I haven't seen in a year or so came to my home to visit my youngest son. It was your son, Ernie and he was there to visit Barney, because they hadn't seen each other in awhile. They grew up together and became friends for a lifetime. It's hard to have someone you can always know is your friend after all these years. They hugged and went outside to talk and catch up on things.
I'm glad that your son, still keeps in touch with the people from his childhood. I guess that's a way of keeping your memory alive in him as well as having someone to connect to, that reminds him of family. During the years your boy grew up, his life was turbulent, so any good relationships that he had, became special to him.
Archie, your son is such a nice young man, and I hope you realize that he is doing well, and working hard. You have grandchildren and it would have been nice if you could still have been around for them.
Your maverick ways, led you through the life you lived and I know that was your kind of freedom. You reminded me of a "Flower Child", who never really grew up.
Ernie, looks alot like you but he, is much larger built and stouter. I guess he got that from his Mom's side of the family. He took over the plumbing business, that you so skillfully taught him, as well as another member of your family that I'm not interested in mentioning.
I know that you are missed by all that hung around with you, like my daughter Misty. You and her were buddies, for many years, because you both were the "flower children" and lived your lives in that manner. She still does and I know if you were alive, and she would let you..........you would be right down there with her, training the horses........
Your memory is a nice and sweet one...........you are missed.
Love ya,
Kaye

The Last Gunman is Dead
Dear Lord,
Once again a nation and it's people have been attacked by terrorists, who wish to destroy and take over. We pray for the one's who lost loved one's and for the land of India, who has been brutally attacked. May we(America) as a nation, rally around this nation, during this time and support them as we were supported during our time of sorrow at 911.

Something To Think About......
(she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.
Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your
neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.
Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities
would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know
what he's talking about. And we said OK.
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?
Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.
Idea's On God
(regarding Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.
She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools,
to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out.
Ben Stein's Confession
Commentary.
My confession:
I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those
It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me
I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians.
Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed

Need A Glove?
Big Red......a Stray
Have you ever seen a lost stray cat hanging around your home and wanted to help it? I did that last year, and it seemed for awhile, he was getting better. The poor thing was all beaten up and skinny when I first noticed him coming around for a morsel of food I might throw out to the local animals and birds. As time went by he would come and sit at the back door in the evenings when I was cooking, smelling the aromas from the food, as I prepared them. I would throw him some scraps and leftovers, which he would grab and chow down on. One day during the winter months, he came back all beaten up again. This was bad enough, but he also had a real bad cold, which cats easily get. I tried to get close enough to throw some peroxide on his sores, but even thought he was very weak and sick he still managed to evade me. He came up missing that same day and we've not seen him since. I truly believe he wasn't ablt to live through the cold winter in the shape he was in. I miss him but there's nothing you can do for a stray that won't let you get close to them.

Thanksgiving.............
In less than a week we will be gathering with our family to be together again, on this occasion. It may be the last time for some of our family to be with us. It may be a new beginning for a few of us. Either way, this will be a time for us as a family to make memories, as we have on previous occasions.
Each year, one or two of the members aren't able to make it, for one reason or another. One of my sons, lives out of state, and won't be here. Another may have other family members to be with at this time, since they just lost their dad. So, we will be thankful for the family members that do get to drop by and enjoy the day as well as we can.
Once again, let us remember to thank the Lord for each day he has given us and for a great healthy coming year.

Orovo Diet Pills
Dear Lynn
These kids of ours, just can't get their lives together and run amok, most of the time. They'd rather spend their money for booze and drugs than, have something that's considered stability and home. I can't afford them and wish they'd get with it.........it's just too much expense, for cigarettes and beer. Our son, can eat the sides off a gut wagon and still be hungry. He's skinny and tall just like you, so it's hard to fill up his big toe, with food. He wonders why he has no life and yet won't go the extra mile to find a job. Now our daughter, has decided that she's tired of a 5 year job, and is ready to move on. Actually, she has moved here..............to the people you told the kids, were to be their family ........... now!
I'm so tired of trying to get these kids, to do right............and you are no help! You had the good gracies, to die 5 years ago, without even letting us know you were sick. You never left anything for the kids, and your family took whatever you had left, without ever looking for the kids as your heirs..............sorry people............they always were.
I don't like what you've left me.............I don't like the way you did us............and I hate you for dying............too soon and leaving the kids with nothing to cherish or share from you.
Sincerely,
Nita Kaye

Cold & Flu Season........
I'm sure it won't be long until the doctors will be getting many people in their offices, from all the colds and flu, this weather will help cause. I can only hope that this winter won't be too bad, because it's very hard to get places you need to be and dress properly.
They say that if you don't like Texas weather, just wait a few minutes and it will change........

Sack Lunches
I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. "I'm glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap," I thought. Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation. "Where are you headed?" I asked the soldier seated nearest to me. "Chicago - to Great Lakes Base. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Iraq." After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached Chicago, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time.As I reached for my wallet, I overheard soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. "No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait til we get to Chicago " His friend agreed. I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty-dollar bill. "Take a lunch to all those soldiers." She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. "My son was a soldier in Iraq; it's almost like you are doing it for him." Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, "Which do you like best - beef or chicken?" "Chicken," I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class. "This is your thanks." After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. '"I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this." He handed me twenty-five dollars. Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out his hand, and said, 'I want to shake your hand.' Quickly unfastening my seatbelt I stood and took the Captain's hand. With a booming voice he said, "I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.". I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers. Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm. When we landed in Chicago I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars! Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. '"It will take you some time to reach the base. It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You." Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their fellow travelers. As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so little... A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

After Thanksgiving Day Sale
The day after Thanksgiving is the number 1 selling day there is for the Christmas Holidays. Everyone heads to the stores as early as 5am to be in line when the doors open at 6am. If you've been there then you know what I'm talking about. Some people make it a yearly ritual, to shop the day after Thanksgiving. To the stores, this day is considered to be Black Friday and just exactly why they call it that I'm not sure. Each year the website develops thanksgiving day sale
ads for many different stores, in order to draw a precised business. I would suppose it's because of the storm of customers they experience, and the onslaught of bad manners, exhibited by them. They produce ads for Circuit City, Best buy, Office Max and many more according to the sales they will be offering. These are just a few of the name brand stores we are accustomed to shopping for our Christmas needs. Black Friday ad values are adjusted to the stores conveniences and prices. Check out this website for great values and they new one's they list weekly.
I've watched several different newscasts showing the objects customers, managed to get to first and they told of the savings they had made, by not waiting to shop later. Shopping later has it's downfall, but at least you don't get beat up or talked bad to.

Dear Lord
We the American people ask your help, strength and guidance during this time of electing a new president. We know that you have your reasons, for all that you allow to happen. Finding ourselves in this situation, is not easy and we will look to you for help in the next four years. Our lives will be greatly affected by the outcome of this election and fear is something we may encounter before long.
Place your hand on this country and guide her as you have in the past. Keep this a God fearing nation, as our fore fathers tried so hard to do.
In your name we ask,
The American People

The Fence
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all.
He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said,'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.
Remember that friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us.
