I Got It.......
Get up, get ready, go to work, get off work, drive to the local club, have a few brews, leave and get something on the way home to eat or wait till I got home and throw something together. Then watch enough TV to get sleepy and go to bed.........that was it. Nothing great or wonderful to enjoy or do!
Well, change does happen and it did........at first it was the most wonderful change I could have ever hoped for..........well, it was good while it lasted, but it didn't last long enough for me.........and the change once again reared it's ugly head......this time for the worse......and once again........I'm in a rut.........alone.......and bored........

Rose......
I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being.
She said, 'Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old.
Can I give you a hug?'
I laughed and enthusiastically responded, 'Of course you may!' and she gave me a giant squeeze.
'Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?' I asked.
She jokingly replied, 'I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids...'
'No seriously,' I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.
'I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm getting one!' she told me.
After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake.
We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would
leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this 'time machine' as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.
At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, 'I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know.'
As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, ' We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do
anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets.'
She concluded her speech by courageously singing 'The Rose.'
She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our
daily lives. At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had
begun all those years ago.
One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.
Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute
to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.
These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.
REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL. We make
a Living by what we get. We make a Life by what we give. God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
'Good friends are like stars.......You don't always see them, but you
know they are always there.'

Love
Matthew 10:32
No one falls in love by choice, it is by CHANCE.
No one stays in love by chance, it is by WORK.
And no one falls out of love by chance, it is by CHOICE
He did something for you, now do something for him.
Spread his word, and you'll be rewarded. How?
Matthew 10:32....'Whoever acknowledges Me before
men, I will acknowledge him before My Father in heaven. But whoever disowns
Me before men, I will disown him before My Father in heaven.'

Letter In the Night
ONE DAY A WOMAN NAMED LOUISE FELL ASLEEP IN HER BED AND DREAMED A VERY FITFUL DREAM. SHE DREAMED THAT SOMEONE IN HELL WROTE A LETTER TO HER, AND IT WAS TO BE DELIVERED TO HER BY A MESSENGER. TH E MESSENGER PASSED BETWEEN THE LAKES OF BURNING FIRE AND BRIMSTONE THAT OCCUPIES HELL AND FOUND HIS WAY TO THE DOOR THAT WOULD LEAD HIM TO THE OUTSIDE WORLD. LOUISE DREAMED THAT THE MESSENGER WALKED TO HER HOUSE, CAME INSIDE, AND GENTLY BUT FIRMLY WOKE LOUISE. HE GAVE HER THE MESSAGE, SAYING ONLY THAT A FRIEND HAD WRITTEN IT TO HER FROM HELL. LOUISE, IN HER DREAM WITH TREMBLING HANDS, TOOK THE LETTER AND READ:
MY FRIEND, I STAND IN JUDGMENT NOW, AND FEEL THAT YOU'RE TO BLAME SOMEHOW. NEVER DID YOU POINT THE WAY. YOU KNEW THE LORD IN TRUTH AND GLORY, BUT NEVER DID YOU TELL THE STORY. MY KNOWLEDGE THEN WAS VERY DIM; YOU COULD HAVE LED ME SAFE TO HIM. THOUGH WE LIVED TOGETHER ON THE EARTH, YOU NEVER TOLD ME OF THE SECOND BIRTH, AND NOW I STAND THIS DAY CONDEMNED, BECAUSE YOU FAILED TO MENTION HIM. YOU TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS, THAT'S TRUE. I CALLED YOU "FRIEND" AND TRUSTED YOU, BUT I LEARN NOW THAT IT'S TOO LATE, YOU COULD HAVE KEPT ME FROM THIS FATE. WE WALKED BY DAY AND TALKED BY NIGHT, AND YET YOU SHOWED ME NOT THE LIGHT. YOU LET ME LIVE, AND LOVE, AND DIE, YOU KNEW I'D NEVER LIVE ON HIGH. YES, I CALLED YOU "FRIEND" IN LIFE, AND TRUSTED YOU THROUGH JOY AND STRIFE. AND YET ON COMING TO THE END, I CANNOT, NOW, CALL YOU "MY FRIEND."
MARSHA
AFTER READING THE LETTER, LOUISE AWOKE. THE DREAM WAS STILL SO REAL IN HER MIND AND SWEAT DROPPED FROM HER BODY IN POOLS. SHE SWORE SHE COULD STILL SMELL THE ACRID SMELL OF BRIMSTONE AND SMOKE FROM HER ROOM.
AS SHE CONTEMPLATED THE MEANING OF HER DREAM, SHE REALIZED THAT AS A CHRISTIAN, SHE HAD FAILED IN HER DUTY TO "GO OUT TO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL." AS SHE THOUGHT OF THAT, SHE PROMISED HERSELF THAT THE NEXT DAY, SHE WOULD CALL MARSHA AND INVITE HER TO CHURCH WITH HER.
THE NEXT MORNING SHE CALLED MARSHA, AND THIS WAS THE CONVERSATION:
"HELLO BILL, IS MARSHA THERE?" "LOUISE, YOU DON'T KNOW?" "NO, BILL, KNOW WHAT?" "MARSHA WAS KILLED LAST NIGHT IN A CAR ACCIDENT. I THOUGHT YOU KNEW."
FELLOW CHRISTIAN, IS THIS YOUR TESTIMONY? ARE YOU WITNESSING TO YOUR FRIENDS THAT YOU ARE WITH EVERYDAY? OR WILL THERE BE FRIENDS OF YOURS IN HELL, ASKING YOU WHY YOU DID NOT TELL THEM ABOUT JESUS?
AS YOUR FRIEND. . . IF YOU DON'T KNOW JESUS, HERE'S HOW:
IF YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS FOR YOUR SINS AND GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU WILL BE SAVED. (ROMANS 10:9 - 10) IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO, JUST PRAY THIS PRAYER:
"DEAR GOD, I CONFESS WITH MY MOUTH AND BELIEVE IN MY HEART THAT JESUS IS YOUR SON AND THAT HE DIED ON THE CROSS FOR MY SINS. JESUS, FORGIVE ME OF MY SINS AND COME INTO MY HEART AND BECOME MY PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR. IN JESUS'S NAME,
AMEN."

St. Theresa's Prayer
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be confident knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
Sent to me by a good email friend.............
Dear Lord Help is Needed.........
Ike roared across low-lying islands Sunday as a Category 4 hurricane, destroying homes, sweeping away boats and bringing more rain and misery to already waterlogged communities.
Dear God, where will these poor people go for the needed help? Our country is trying to help, and it is also under attack from these storms.
Amen
Why Go To Church?
If you're spiritually alive, you're going to love this! If you're spiritually dead, you won't want to read it. If you're spiritually curious, there is still hope!
Why Go To Church?
A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.(or Saturday) 'I've gone for 30 years now,' he wrote, 'and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all'
This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to the Editor' column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:
'I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals But I do know this.. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!' When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!
All right, now that you're done reading, if you're of a mind, send it on! I think everyone should read this! 'When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, 'Jesus, could you get that for me?'
Sunday's Scriptures
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Scriptures
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him," O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"
And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
Matthew 14:30-32
Dear God
The eyes were all on the Gulf of Mexico, this weekend as the hurricane came ashore to tear up properties, that had been torn up three years ago, by another hurricane. Many lives were lost during this storm's assault, in it's path. We are at a loss, why these things happen, and we know you have your reasons. We ask that you place your hands on these families, that have lost loved one's and give them strength, courage and comfort during this tragic time. We also ask that you give finances and needed help to these people, when trying to rebuild their lives and homes, and businesses. There are 2 other hurricanes in the Gulf as well, ready to reek havoc on properties and lives. Please take these weather related subjects and control their possibilities, for destruction.
Thank you for your love and guidance during these times,
In thy precious name we ask,
Amen
