I'm not sure if this is what your looking for but, I am sure that most places need security cameras
to keep unwanted intruders from being where they don't need to be. Many crime scenes have been scanned while the actual crime was occurring. The investigation unit was able to pull the video tapes taken during that time, and go back through the actual crime. They could get more evidence and were better able to find the criminals involved.
