I spoke with the mother of a friend who is stationed at a military base on one of the islands over around Japan. Her son hasn't made contact with anyone as yet, and with all the news that's coming out of the area about the disaster, it's very scary for her. She's waiting by the phone, just in case he calls, so that she won't miss his call. I called her and let her know I was thinking of her and her son and that I had sent an email to him out of concern. I also let her know that I was praying for her and her son, while all this is going on. Everyone one feels so helpless and can't do very much except wait and pray.
