Good Friday

It's "Good Friday", and basically it has been taught that this was the day, Jesus was hung on the cross. So, in remembrance of this day, I would consider this to be a very "holy" day. The day "Our Savior" died to save us from our sins. I'm sure that many will take a moment to reflect on the happenings, so many years ago. As we celebrate this "Holy" holiday, let us remember the reason and what he did for us. Have a "Holy Easter"............

Helper

Soon

Last week my sister and I were given the news, we knew would come one day soon.  It's something we have faced as we watched our Mother slowly ebby away.  Both her and my step-dad are in the final days of their lives.  We do not relish the fact of this loss, but realize that we can't live forever.  Mom, has been placed in Hospice and given at least 6 months at the most.  All arrangements have been made for this time and we hope it will be a process with no trauma.  God, is our strength in the days to come.

Dear God

I've gotten to the age that each day has become a blessing, even if it doesn't turn out to my happiness.  It's all too often that people are dying and this is a loss that families suffer on a daily basis.  I heard of an acquaintance who lost his wife yesterday.  Then another girl told me her dad had passed yesterday morning as well.  This is very scary for me since I'm in that age range.  So, with each day that passes I hope for all good to come of it.  In recent days I've found alot of emotional pain, that goes with trying to care for a person in a relationship.  There are so many ups and downs that leave you feeling lost.  This is the point that hurts so bad.  I'm in that lost feeling at present and sure need some comfort to ease pain.
I pray for the comfort of the people who have lost their loved ones, and could you please find some in your answer for me too?

Answer

An emotional roller coaster has been plaguing my mind and soul in the lst few weeks.  Yesterday, I had all but given up on the situation ever being what I was hoping for.  My heart was heavy and I considered the situation lost to my emotions getting out of control. 
Affairs of the heart are very touchy when dealing with the other person.  You never know if you are going to do or say the right thing when being around this unique person.  So, with my heart in my hand, I reached out to God in prayer.  I asked for his help to let me know if everything was alright.  See, I hadn't heard from the other person for over 24hrs. and it had been a tense time.  After I prayed to God, I went to a website on my computer to check out something.  After what seemed a minute or two, my cell phone buzzed and there was a text from this person.  It was as if the answer to prayer, came as soon as I prayed.  Realizing that it had come that soon, overwhelmed me.  The text answered what I had been wanting to know and gave me the relief that I so desired.  How big is God?  How great is his love for us?  People, I can't ever begin to explain.  I would probably start blubbering, if I took the time to tell you all the things he's done for me during my life.  So, I am giving him praise for this time and thanking for even more good that has happened this morning.  There are no limits on God..........

Dearest Father

My heart lives daily through the strength you give me.  The courage to press on is embedded deep in my soul.  How often I find myself talking to you lately about things beyond my control.  Sometimes I just thank you for the new day, when waking in the early morning.  Other times I ask you for help and guidance in matters of life, family, love and relationships.
Today, I thank you for another new day, and start it off with what can prove to be a busy one.  At this moment, it's first coffee time, to pull my brain out of the cobwebs of sleep.  Many subjects have already flooded my mind as I make the morning coffee and turn on some heat in the rest of the house.  It's a crisp morning and the old house is very cold. 
I sit down to my computer as I do every morning, and start the usual routine of turning it on, waiting for it to boot up while sipping on my coffee.  This time I'm hunting the kleenex to contain my sinus infection.  It's been a hard week on allergy sufferers.  I have a head full of the stuff and it's a mess to handle.  My weekend is planned and this is not what I need to cause any problems.  I do hope my sinus gets under control or I'll be too sick to enjoy my visit, with my friend.
So, I thank you for the help you will give me the next few days and pray that you will keep your guiding hand on the things that evolve.

Home Repairs

 All up the east coast you can find remnants of a storm which took it's toll on those areas.  Virginia, was one of the states involved.  Some of the other states were hit harder.  There's help through  replacement windows in richmond  for those locations.  Many are still living in conditions, that are very hard to bear.  Disaster relief, helped as best they could but now more help is needed.

A Messenger

Often times I get to feeling down, and recently this happened.  I went on a social network and posted one of my other blog entries.  I forgot that this person keeps up with some of my blogs.  It wasn't long until I got a post from him on the "feed" that I wasn't "alone", I just thought I was.  To this he attached the poem "Footprints in the Sand".  I felt so humble as I read his words of encouragement.  I knew that truly God had this messenger as well as a friend send this to me. 
Sometimes, you get lost in yourself and forget the wonderful words our Lord gives to us in his word.  I knew that poem well and had read it many times down through the years.  Yet, it took the goodness of a friend to remind me.  Thank you Lord.
