Sing Michael.........

Like any good mother, when Karen found out that another baby was on the way, she did what she could to help her 3-year-old son, Michael, prepare for a new sibling.

They found out that the new baby was going be a girl, and day after day, night after night, Michael sang to his sister in mommy's tummy.

He was building a bond of love with his little sister before he even met her.
The pregnancy progressed normally for Karen, an active member of the Panther Creek United Methodist Church in Morristown , Tennessee !
In time, the labor pains came.
Soon it was every five minutes, every three, every minute. But serious complications arose during delivery and Karen found herself in hours of labor.
Would a C-section be required? Finally, after a long struggle, Michael's little sister was born. But she was in very serious condition. With a siren howling in the night, the ambulance rushed the infant to the neonatal intensive care unit at St. Mary's Hospital, Knoxville , Tennessee.
The days inched by. The little girl got worse. The pediatrician had to tell the parents there is very
little hope. Be prepared for the worst. Karen and her husband contacted a local cemetery about a burial plot. They had fixed up a special room in their house for their new baby but now they found themselves having to plan for a funeral.
Michael, however, kept begging his parents to let him see his sister. I want to sing to her, he kept saying. Week two in intensive care looked as if a funeral would come before the week was over.
Michael kept nagging about singing to his sister, but kids are never allowed in Intensive Care..
Karen decided to take Michael whether they liked it or not. If he didn't see his sister right then, he may neversee her alive. She dressed him in an oversized scrub suit and marched him into ICU. He looked like a walking laundry basket. The head nurse recognized him as a child and bellowed,'Get that kid out of here now. No children allowed.'
The mother rose up strong in Karen, and the usually
mild-mannered lady glared steel-eyed right into the head nurse's face, her lips a firm line. 'He is not leaving until he sings to his sister' she stated.
Then Karen towed Michael to his sister's bedside.
He gazed at the tiny infant losing the battle to live.
After a moment, he began to sing. In the pure-hearted voice of a 3-year-old, Michael sang:
'You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray.' Instantly the baby girl seemed to respond. The pulse rate began to calm down and become steady.
'Keep on singing, Michael,' encouraged Karen with
tears in her eyes.
'You never know, dear, how much I love you, please
don't take my sunshine away.'
As Michael sang to his sister, the baby's ragged,
strained breathing became as smooth as a kitten's purr.
'Keep on singing, sweetheart.' 'The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my arms'.
Michael's little sister began to relax as rest, healing
rest, seemed to sweep over her. 'Keep on singing, Michael.' Tears had now conquered the face of the bossy head nurse.
Karen glowed. 'You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. Please don't take my sunshine away...'
The next day.....the very next day......the little girl was well enough to go home.
Woman's Day Magazine called it The Miracle of a Brother's Song .
The medical staff just called it a miracle.
Karen called it a miracle of God's love.
NEVER GIVE UP ON THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE.
LOVE IS SO INCREDIBLY POWERFUL.

Iranian Plane Crash..........

A Russian-made Iranian passenger plane carrying 168 people crashed shortly after takeoff Wednesday, smashing into a field northwest of the capital and shattering into flaming pieces. All on board were killed in Iran's worst air disaster in six years. Before crashing, the plane's tail was on fire as it circled in the air, one witness told.
Another plane crash, and this one is totally destroyed, with no survivors.

Mosques Closed........

Several mosques in riot-hit Urumqi opened for Friday prayers after boisterous crowds gathered outside, despite notices posted earlier saying they would be closed in the wake of ethnic violence that left 156 dead.

Ethnic Uighurs stand at the entrance to a mosque after being told there will be no service on Friday, in Urumqi in China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region July 10, 2009. Hundreds of Uighur Muslims crowded into at least one mosque in riot-stricken Urumqi on Friday after authorities relented on a decision to close mosques for the main day of prayer to minimize ethnic tension.

I'm sure that the armies and police have their reasons for the closings. I truly believe these people need their abilities to be able to go to their mosques for prayer. Some form of hope should be afforded these people, while I understand that riots can bombs can happen in these places. It's been happening at several mosques, especially when there were crowds of people inside for worship. Safety has become an issue and if these people really want to pray they can do that anywhere.

Cool Nights

There are many different climates and types of weather. The weather here is much like Arizona, with it being hot during the day and cool at night. The weather has a way of weathering the real estate, so you have regular up keep on your property. I'm sure that the real estate in Scottsdale
needs to be restored often with the type of blistering heat they suffer during the summers. I do believe that the weather is about as hot there as it is where I live. I have a hard enough time living in Texas, I sure that Arizona, would be nice to visit, just not live there. They also have very cold winters, with lots of snow. This really takes it's toll on houses and other property in Arizona. Insulation is a must in any home, but you really need it there.

360 Blogs

Yahoo, says that on July 13th, 2009 they will shutdown the 360 blogs. I don't know where that leaves you, but this blog is one of them and I'm beginning to get worried. I tried to transfer and download the material, like they instructed me to, but when I tried to open the file on my Yahoo profile, and on my desktop, there was nothing there. I'm trying to open another blog under the same theme, in another template, to see if it will cover the area's this one is going to loose. Unfortunately, the new blog will be unable to be considered an old enough blog to do anything with for another 3 months. I'm loosing my PR 2 blog to this stupid stuff and I'm really unhappy with the outcome, once it happens.

My New Cat

This little brat has taken over my home and he's a royal pain in the backside. I named him "Panther", because of his color and actions. There have been several times, that I wondered what possessed me to think I needed a "cat". Sleeping late, which I relish, is gone from my list of enjoyments.........
This young man, tests my patience to the limits and then some. There's nothing safe from him, and he's tried to even take down some of my window curtains.

Used Cars.......

Looking around for a good car deal gets to be frustrating. I know because I tried it about a year ago and came away empty handed. There are better deals on cars these days, with the decline of the economy. You can get Used Honda Cars, Fords, and others for a much better price than before.
I once knew a family who would take a vacation to Europe, when they were ready to buy a new car. They can get Used Cars as well as New Cars depending on what they can afford or really want. I always thought it would be nice to make a vacation trip be a car buying trip as well. I wonder if you've ever done this and then had it shipped back to the states? That's what this family did, once they found a car they liked.
I'm sure there are people who would rather have the convenience of just leasing a car. You are able to get a Car Lease when you shop with this company. This way you can get a new car every two years and not have to pay the full price.

I Guess You Could.........

It seems that on days like this coming holiday, I find myself alone. It's because that couples, tend to want only couples at their get to gathers. They tend to leave single people out and that makes them feel even lonelier than before. There was times, when they wanted you around and even when they didn't have anyone, you would include them to keep them from being alone during those times. I guess it's easy for them to forget when their lives are going so well. Either way, I suppose it's my fault for not wanting to live the way I was. I now have exactly what I can live with and that's myself. So, I guess you could say, having my own way caused this. It's still lonely, when no one includes you in their festive gatherings.
