Ice Cream

Last week, I took my children to a restaurant.  My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And liberty and justice for all! Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"
As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.  He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."
"Really?" my son asked. "Cross my heart," the man replied.
Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."
Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.
He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already."
Sometimes, we all need some ice cream.

Yoyo's

Did you own a "yoyo" during your childhood?  I sure did and thought I would never learn how to make it just go up and down in a smooth manner.  Today, I believe that trait is best done by someone more adept.  Looking to buy a yoyo can be fun because of the different styles on the market.  You can visit  yoyojam  website to shop for a yoyo you think will suit your taste and flair.

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Sweetheart Day

Here it comes, the one day that all sweetheart's can celebrate each other.  Showing their love through giving  valentine's gifts  has become a tradition though out the year's.  Back when I was young it became a very important day at our school.  This was a time to trade our Valentine's Cards and give a special one to a person who we liked especially well.  Naturally, that gave the bullies a chance to tease the other person about who had given them a Valentine.

Time For God

We try to keep God in
church on Sunday morning....

Maybe,
Sunday night...

And, the unlikely event
o f a midweek service.
We do like to have Him
around during sickness....

And, of course, at funerals.

However, we don't have
time, or room, for Him
during work or play...

Because.. That's the part of
our lives we think... We can,
and should, handle
on our own.

May God forgive me
for ever thinking...

That... There is a time
or place where..
HE is not to be
FIRST
in my life.

We should always
have time to remember
all HE has done for us.

Hubby's fight

Guest post written by Arnoldo Acevedo
My husband and I have really been fighting lately about the amount of direct TV that we are comfortable with their children watching. See, when he gets home from work he's exhausted so he doesn't want to have to play with the kids without anything else going on so we often will sit on the couch with them and watch a TV show. This would be the worst thing is that happen every now and then but this is how it goes every single light in my house and I feel like the kids need some other kind of quality timewith their dad. It's not like they even talk to each other while the show is on! I know I'm being really nitpicky but if it were up to me we would get rid of the TV altogether and just spend more time at the family when we are all at home. These kids are going to be grown-up before we know it and I want to cherish it now.

Prayer

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost, just a lot of reward. Make sure you pray, and pray believing God will answer. May today be all you need it to be. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears. May God manifest himself today in ways you have never experienced? May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged. I pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying love for God.

Support for Walgreens.....

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Negotiations by  Walgreens and Express Scripts  have fallen through and they will no long work together.  Walgreens is no longer part of Express Scripts’ pharmacy provider network as of Jan. 1, 2012. Express Scripts acts as a middleman between pharmacies.  Most payers don’t see the rates Express Scripts pays to Walgreens. They only know what they pay Express Scripts. When they do see what Walgreens is paid, many health plans and employers are making decisions to continue to ensure access to Walgreens because they find the prices to be competitive and believe that they can lower overall health care costs.

An individual can join the  Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens  during a special January promotion for only $5, or $10 for a family membership, and receive savings on more than 8,000 brand name and all generic medications. Walgreens did this in an effort to prevent our country’s military personnel from being caught in the middle.

Walgreens also offered to contract separately with Express Scripts for Tricare from other Express Scripts commercial business, but these offers were rejected. This company wants you to use their own mail order pharmacy business instead of your community pharmacy.  Community pharmacies are a valuable presence in your neighborhood.  You can give support to  Walgreens on Facebook   as well as  Walgreens on Twitter   because of the magnitude confusion  this situation has caused.  What better was to stay updated than to check this out on these two networks.

Saint Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be confident knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of us.

Healthcare

The health care industry is one field that will keep needing employees.  People are always needing health care and therefore jobs in this field will be around for quite awhile.  Once people heal, they need therapy to get back on their feet and assume responsible positions in the community.  The hospitals are hard at work and need assistance to keep certain positons filled.  You can click on the link listed and look for  Therapists Jobs   when you become qualified.

Scriptures

These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Proverbs 6:16-19

Pools

This time of the year, we have drained our pools and are waiting for the spring to arrive so, we can fill them once again and have everything serviced, ready for the coming summer.  It is necessary to find a good  Pool Cover  to protect the water once it has been shocked and readied.  Many leaves and dirt fall into the pool and cause the water to ruin.  A good cover can help protect your vital parts that are included with your pools servicing on a monthly basis.

2012 Is Coming.......

As we search our thoughts about, this past year and remind ourselves of things, gone by. Let us also look forward to the coming year with hope and love in our hearts, as we reach a milestone and move on to another. Remember the one's we've lost and the one's yet to come, for our future depends on the new one's that come to us from now on. God bless you all and may you have wonderful peace, this coming year, no matter what we may face.
God's peace and love to you my friends and readers.......

Pins

There a certain reasons to wear lapel pins, and I'm sure that you find yourself looking at these on a daily basis.  Some  custom lapel pins  tell you a person's preference when it comes to religion, sex, origins and even company status's.   I've often wanted to purchase an "American Flag" lapel pin to wear on certain holiday's.  It would be nice to have certain other pins, that affiliate with my religious beliefs.  You can find almost any type of lapel pin at the above link.  I am sure they would welcome your custom design requests.
