From the time I was born, I was raised to know about the Lord. My grandmother, took me to church every time the door was opened. All my childhood, was spent playing with my dolls and whatever toy, the family was able to afford for me. Remembering my grandmother, always telling me about God, and expressing how she hoped one day I would be a preacher, led me as a small child to feel special. I can remember playing church with my dolls and sitting them on the steps of the front porch, and leading them in church. Everything I had seen during service's was what I would perform, during my play session. I became the leader of songs, prayer and eventually preach a child like sermon, to my dolls. I would that today's children, enjoyed the innocence of the children years ago. To know God, with the innocence of a child is the beginning of real faith....

I'm just feeling the need to talk to you, even though there's not a lot to say. I keep thinking about things, and how in my life they are good, but in other's they're not.
First of all, I want to thank you for the good that's happened in my life. That world isn't perfect by a long shot, but there's so much good, that it over powers any bad, that I stumble into. While not looking for anything and secretly looking at the same time I have gotten to the point, I believe and figure the men are all out for themselves, and to heck with the word "love". I fear if I get with anyone else, it will turn out the same as before. There are times, I believe that no one can love me for who I am. I really think, I am such a bad person, and no one wants a woman like me, for a relationship.
But you do work in mysterious ways, don't you? You have plans we don't even know about and can't even fathom. For that I am so very "thankful", and don't know what I'd do, if I didn't know where you were, and how to contact you.
Thanks for all the great and good things, you placed in my life. Know that I will tell anyone, that I can about you, when I know they need an emotional boost, and maybe it will help them get through some of the rough times they face, just like you did for me.

Last week, I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And liberty and justice for all! Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"
As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."
"Really?" my son asked. "Cross my heart," the man replied.
Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."
Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.
He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already."
Sometimes, we all need some ice cream.

My husband and I have really been fighting lately about the amount of direct TV that we are comfortable with their children watching. See, when he gets home from work he's exhausted so he doesn't want to have to play with the kids without anything else going on so we often will sit on the couch with them and watch a TV show. This would be the worst thing is that happen every now and then but this is how it goes every single light in my house and I feel like the kids need some other kind of quality timewith their dad. It's not like they even talk to each other while the show is on! I know I'm being really nitpicky but if it were up to me we would get rid of the TV altogether and just spend more time at the family when we are all at home. These kids are going to be grown-up before we know it and I want to cherish it now.

Most of the Christmas nativity scenes that churches had placed in a Santa Monica coastal park for decades have been displaced by non-religious displays. This year the Churches only got three with 18 units going to atheist groups. The spokesman claimed that it was a fare lottery. I don’t buy that. The odds of there being that must difference in the outcome is astronomical. This is just another attack by liberals against Christmas and Christians. The atheist in this country have zero tolerance to all things christian. I have never herd them complain about anything Muslim and Obama has been pushing it down our throats. I didn’t hear one complaint about government funds being made available for building the “Ground Zero Mosque”.

have the right guranteed under the U.S. Constution for freedom of relegions. They can deny,
decry it all they want but the United States was founded upon Judeao Christian principles to
give all the freedom of worship. We do not deny others that right and they will not be tollerated to deny us our right. The only reason Athiest, homosexuals or other deviants of society are tollerated is because of the Christain beleifs and the United States Military. The United States of America was founded on biblical principles with the intent to guarantee freedom of worship. But over time, we have removed the Lord from many aspects of public life. Prayer in schools, for instance, was deemed unconstitutional. What was once a “nation under God” has turned into a country that tolerates a growing number of sins and yet belittles absolute truth.

If a nation turns its back on the Lord, His judgment is inevitable unless the people repent and make Him Lord once again. As believers, our responsibility is to pray that God would draw the heart of our country back to Himself—and to help the gospel and truth spread through our land.

My husband and I moved to Stockton recently, which was quite the adventure. He was born and raised in Stockton and has always wanted to end up back there someday to be near his family. I get along great with his family, so I was fine with the idea. I looked forward to having more help with the kids and big family get-togethers. The only problem was that we were living in Florida for so many years that the thought of moving all the way across the country seemed daunting. I was terrified about the cost and work it would take to move us that far. I also knew that my husband would be of great help when it came to the heavy lifting, but that the organization would be left up to me. I was so exhausted at the end of the move that I had no energy to try and set up our cable and internet services. I didn’t have any interest in searching around for different deals. My kids are all about the new dog but to be honest, my husband couldn’t care less. I don’t know why he was so all about the new pet but it seems like ever since we got the lab he’s been nonstop watching expert satelliteand can’t be bothered to take the thing outside. I know it’s football seasonand he says the dog is the kids’ responsibility but it would be nice to have a little more help around here when it comes to the dog. Generally speaking today's world looks toward the slender, beautiful people. It's these people we larger one's learn to dislike. We work so hard on a diet, exercise and look for the best diet pills to aid in our attempts. Many of us loose some weight, but we really don't get to that goal we had in mind. It may be that we set too high a goal, and did it with the idea, that we weren't going to be able to achieve it anyway. This was a easy way to set ourselves up to quick when the going got rough.
We know that it takes hard work to loose weight. We get ourselves all charged up and off we go on the down hill trek. I say down hill, because without proper help and resume you can't do this. A good trainer or a friend that's dieting, exercising and such along with you can get you there. I've lost weight by just adjusting my diet, but some obese people, need extreme help.
I can not understand how someone can go to the extreme's that certain weight builders take. I would fall out in the first fifteen minutes from over exhaustion. I suppose that's why they go to the gyms and spa's to get the special training to get those buff bodies. Those people have a lot of will power and strength.

I remember going to church every time the doors were open and sometimes when they weren't. The new world out there has taken it's toll on churches and left them sitting empty and forsaken.
I'm sure you were raised much as I was, with church being the major part of your life. It seems that we have moved in other directions, knowing what the true direction is. Excuses become a part of why we don't go, and laziness is another. I love to sleep in on a Sunday morning, because it's the only day I have to do so. There's the getting up and dressing to go off to a place, that we might end up sleeping once again, if the pastor isn't keeping our attentions. It comes down to what you really believe, anyway. The personal experience is what's important, along with the relationship between you and your maker. The real thing is that, and the different denominations, doctrines and such leave me cold. I find that I must constantly find contact with the one that's most important to keep me on the right paths.

There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things 'in order,' she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes.

She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in.

Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her.

'There's one more thing,' she said excitedly.

'What's that?' came the Pastor's reply.

'This is very important,' the young woman continued . 'I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.'

The Pastor stood looking at the young woman, not knowing quite what to say.

That surprises you, doesn't it? ' the young woman asked.

'Well, to be honest, I'm puzzled by the request,' said the Pastor.

The young woman explained. 'My grandmother once told me this story, and from that time on I have always tried to pass along its message to those I love and those who are in need of encouragement. In all my years of attending socials and dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main course were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep your fork.' It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming...like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something wonderful, and with substance!'

So, I just want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder 'What's with the fork?' Then I want you to tell them: 'Keep your fork, the best is yet to come.'

The Pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the young woman good-bye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her before her death. But he also knew that the young woman had a better grasp of heaven than he did. She had a better grasp of what heaven would be like than many people twice her age, with twice as much experience and knowledge. She KNEW that something better was coming.

At the funeral people were walking by the young woman's casket and they saw the cloak she was wearing and the fork placed in her right hand. Over and over, the Pastor heard the question, 'What's with the fork?' And over and over he smiled.

During his message, the Pastor told the people of the conversation he had with the young woman shortly before she died. He also told them about the fork and about what it symbolized to her. He told the people how he could not stop thinking about the fork and told them that they probably would
not be able to stop thinking about it either.

He was right. So the next time you reach down for your fork let it remind you, ever so gently, that the best is yet to come. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.
Show your friends how much you care. Remember to always be there for them, even when you need them more. For you never know when it may be their time to 'Keep your fork.'

Cherish the time you have , and the memories you share .
being friends with someone is not an opportunity but a sweet responsibility.

In the last few years, I have noticed many churches opening and closing. Some of the churches would spring up in local strip malls and very soon after they would close and vacate the space. Others would open in vacant houses and make needed repairs on them. Yet, they would fall to the bad economic situations we have been facing.

I can see where this is going. We've come down to the fact that people who don't believe in God, are suing the Governor of Texas because he has issued the support of a "Day of Prayer" to be conducted in the Houston, TX area. They say he has stepped over the line by using his office and the seal as a means of support for the event. In other words, these people are trying to tell us that our leader is not supposed to lead the Christians in this event. We are not telling them "not to believe", which they do so very well. Why can't they leave the Christians and God fearing people to their beliefs. Isn't that what the American freedom is all about? Freedom to or not to ....believe. If prayer helps and comforts during our time of economic duress, then what makes this such a problem? Is there not the same attentions, given to sick and ailing people? If our Governor is a person that believes in God, why can't he call those who believe, to come and assemble for prayer?

It was so sad to hear of your passing. You only last 11 months past your brother's passing and it seems that the timing wasn't expected by any. I know that you had many health problems and certainly they contributed to you demise. I feel bad for your boys and hope that somehow they can accept you being gone. This leaves only one of the main line to that side of the family and I'm sure David will be taking better care of himself now that all these things have happened. His health isn't too great either and people will worry for him.
Although, you and I never had a close relationship, I still had fun joking with you when I would visit over there. I'm sure you will be missed by many,

This time last year you were so sick and very pale. The cancer had robbed you of the spunk you bestowed upon all around you through out the years. You could talk the horns off of a billy goat and sometimes this really got on our nerves. All in all it was your persona and people either accepted you or went the other direction.
Our daughter has asked me to go with her to visit your grave for Father's Day. Not wanting to hurt her feelings, I told her I would go. I am not one to like being around these types of scenarios and so I will make this visit as fast as I can. I know it will be hard on her and at the present she needs someone who can give her strength during this time. Next month it will be a year since you left the girls and that will be rough on them as well.

I know that it's hard to consider your own death, but you must make sure your family can get through the grief as easy as possible.
